The Health Workforce Development department is responsible for health workforce production and enhancement of quality of services provided to the population.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee and manage clinical attachment programs, ensuring proper supervision and evaluation and certification processes.
Identify and analyze skills gaps within the healthcare system to strategically develop competency frameworks.
Implement clear and structured career paths for healthcare professionals to guide and motivate young health professionals.
Develop and coordinate residencies, fellowships, and health related education programs.
Develop and refine the health workforce development policies and standards to enhance quality and quantity of the healthcare workforce.
Ensure evidence-based decision-making and policy development through research.
Foster partnerships and secure grants to support workforce development initiatives, including identifying funding opportunities, and forging collaborations with different stakeholders in aim to advance the department’s mandate.
Promote Rwandan medical tourism as an education and treatment hub for the region, emphasizing academic-driven institutions with high care standards.
