As stated by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of health Dr. Jean Pierre NYEMAZI, this warehouse will enable RBC/EPI program to now reallocate budget it has been spending on renting a warehouse for long time to other running cost of vaccination program. We are spending more than Rwf 4 million on the warehouse rental. But now that we have our own warehouse, this money will be reallocated to other tasks such as training or the construction of other buildings.″

“In the case of Rwanda what was great is its great achievement of the program that they have been able to access additional funding to provide funding for the construction ″

Through GAVI’s Partnership, Rwanda has been able to achieve and sustain a vaccination coverage of 95% for the most common infectious vaccine preventable diseases. This has immensely contributed to reducing child mortality. Currently, there is a need to reach the remaining 5% missed children, and maintain the high coverage in a cost effective, sustainable way.

RGB in its report of 2018, ranked vaccination program in Rwanda among the best programs of the health sector. Today vaccination program in Rwanda is offering 13 antigens to a very big number of children, adolescent girls, pregnant women and general population who need adulthood vaccines.
